The plantation was warm and inviting when we arrived, Mimosas and laughter in the air. Chelsey was ready, calm, enjoying every bit of the love surrounding her and the breeze on the giant, drool worthy porch. As the day unfolded, I was sure that we’d have the most perfect spots for all of the intimate photos I had in mind for Chelsey and Kaleb’s exchanging of letters and non-look first look. Chelsey and Kaleb didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony, so I carefully positioned them for the crafting of some shots that we just couldn’t miss at their phenomenal warm, Southern bridal prep locale–and let me tell you, oh how this worked out beautifully and ever-so-intimately! After the exchanging of letters, I was able to move Kaleb so that Chelsey could come up behind him for a hug and a few words, all without him seeing her. It was intimate, quiet–exactly how it should be.
As another added surprise to my Southern, vintage-loving heart, her mother and grandmother’s wedding dresses were hanging next to Chelsey’s when I arrived. Talk about a photo you’ll want to pass down to your grandkids. This gave me so many happy chills, reminding me yet again why I love the art of photo documentation.
Chelsey and Kaleb, I have no words to sum up the beauty of your day and the fun-loving relationship you two share. Not only that, but I’m positive that the love and laughter that surrounded you on that day will continue to surround you for the rest of your lives together. You two are loved, by so many, by one another, and I undoubtedly understand why.
