As you probably know from previous posts on my social media outlets, a few weeks ago I had the absolute pleasure of spending the week in Charleston. The city charmed me even more than I expected. Just imagine the pages of Southern Living Magazine in real life–from cobblestone streets, to hand painted numbers on doors, to the way everyone greets you with a “Hello ma’am.” I now know why the town comes so highly acclaimed as one of America’s prettiest cities.
Not only was she a looker, but Charleston also wooed me with her authentic Southern food–particularly the shrimp and grits. I might have had it on three separate occasions. Oops!
If you ever find yourself in Charleston for a weekend away, I highly recommend dining at Husk for its daily changing and delicious menu and Poogan’s Porch for its particular charm. They will not disappoint.
I was in Charleston with a group of photographers, so this is pretty much how we looked the entire time we were roaming the streets. (:
The detail on every building oozed so much charm and unique character–as did my sweet new friends I made, of whom I already miss. Happy Friday, my friends!
